News: September 2007

Some of you may remember John Tani, who was a classmate through 10th grade. He moved to Nether Providence and then to the Chicago area. John was living in Scotland working for Wilson Sporting Goods when he died from complications of heart surgery in 1992. John’s younger brother, Dan, is an astronaut and is scheduled to fly on the next Space Shuttle mission. News: August 2007

Received this information from Joe Rakitsy: “Stumbled onto internet posting of "lost" 1965 RPHS grads in which I was listed. I had been living in Philly area until 2000 working in Pharmaceutical industry as Director of Taxes for Rhone-Poulenc Rorer until 2000 merger which created Aventis Pharmaceuticals and a move to Brigewater NJ. Late 2005 takeover by Sanofi created Sanofi-Aventis and a "package" and early retirement and a move to Lake Wylie, South Carolina (about 1/2 hour from Charlotte, NC) where I currently reside with my wife Theresa and dogs Roscoe and Jake.  I get up to Philly area about 3-4 times a year to see family/friends.”

Received from Bill Ferguson on January 14, 2007: “Al Pillard, our 12th grade POD teacher in 1965, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2007 after a gritty one year battle against multiple cancers. Cards of sympathy may be sent to his wife, Donna Pillard, at their home. (For address e-mail RPHS65@verizon.net) ”
